Hunter Receives Endorsement from Missouri Republican Assembly

MISSOURI REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY ENDORSES DUNCAN HUNTER FOR PRESIDENT

* * Hunter Described as True Republican of the Party * *

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 7, 2007

San Diego, CA- - - Congressman Duncan Hunter's presidential campaign
continues to gain momentum as he received another endorsement, this time
from the Missouri Republican Assembly (MRA) at their quarterly
membership meeting. A member of the National Federation of Republican
Assemblies, the MRA voted to endorse Hunter's campaign for President in
the upcoming Missouri Republican primary as he represents a strong
conservative choice among the other candidates seeking the Republican
nomination.

"Congressman Hunter is a true social conservative and honestly
represents the Republican Wing of the Republican Party," stated Chris
Brown, MRA state President. "When you add together Duncan Hunter's
commitment to the military, American jobs, and fighting for family and
life issues, there is no better choice for President. America needs
Hunter's integrity, courage and proven leadership.

The MRA works to unite conservatives, both economic and social, whose
interests range from tax cuts and reform to national defense, from pro-
life to education concerns, from Second Amendment to national
sovereignty, and for the advancement of traditional Republican values.
While other candidates are seeking ways to appeal to conservative voters
within the party, Hunter's principles, values and consistent 27-year
voting record in Congress on Republican issues clearly shows that he
represents the conservative choice for the party.

I thank the Missouri Republican Assembly for their trust and I
appreciate their endorsement, stated Hunter. As I travel across our
great country, I am finding more and more that my message of a strong
national defense, enforcement of the border, the protection of American
jobs, lower taxes and the sanctity of life is what Americans want in a
candidate. The Missouri Republican Assembly is looking for someone that
will have the same priorities they have in the Oval Office and I am
happy to work with them on these important issues.

Hunter will be serving as the Grand Marshall in the San Diego Armed
Services Veterans Day Parade this weekend before traveling to Nevada
where he will participate in a Veterans Day parade in Reno and attend
scheduled events in Elko.

Why can't word of mouth be enough?  Why can't this man get his name out there better?

Guliani Gets Worthless Endorsement From Robertson

Source:  Washington Post

Pat Robertson decides to endorse Rudy Guliani.  Robertson has become a worthless figure to the Christian right.  The Christian Coalition he started has moved to the left in its activism for "global warming."

This just proves people are willing to abandon their Christian, conservative principles to avoid the perception that no one else can beat Hillary.  Guess what?  THERE ARE OTHER CONSERVATIVES THAT CAN BEAT HILLARY!  Ron Paul is even a better candidate than Rudy is.  I believe most of the other candidates can beat Hillary... they just need to convince those in the middle that what they want is also in their best interest.

QUIT WITH THE MAN-CRUSH ON RUDY!

Are the British Idiots?

Recently, the London Telegraph named Rudy Guliani as the most influential conservative in the US.  What is their idea of a conservative?  What a bunch of idiots.

Look at their list of liberals and conservatives.

Give Gary Brugman the "Tools to Change His Life"

Remember the story of Border Patrol Agent Gary Brugman?  US Attorney Johnny Sutton began his systematic prosecution of BP Agents and Sheriffs Deputies in West Texas with BP Agent Gary Brugman.  Gary spent 8 years in the Coast Guard and 5 years with the Border Patrol - 13 years total serving our nation and protecting us - only to be prosecuted and imprisoned for pushing an illegal alien down with his foot.   No injury, no fight, no damage - Brugman forced the alien to sit down during a roundup arrest in the field and for that he was prosecuted, convicted, and imprisoned for two years.

This past January Gary got out of prison with nothing left - 41 years old, no money, no retirement, and a felony conviction on his record which doesn't look good on a resume'.  Now there is a chance for Gary Brugman to be restored and have a chance to succeed in his life.  MATCO Tools is recognized as the "Best Automotive Franchise" by Franchise Business REVIEW (based on 2006 Franchise Satisfaction Survey), and is one of the top franchise opportunities out there.
http://www.matcotools.com/Franchise/index.jsp  MATCO heard Gary's story and stepped forward to offer this chance for him to become a MATCO franchisee. MATCO interviewed Gary, tested him, did background checks, and even flew him at their expense to their Corporate Headquarters to meet the President of the Company.  This last week MATCO offered Gary Brugman a franchise in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas!   MATCO Regional supervisors have also found Gary a used MATCO truck and are beginning his orientations and have scheduled him for formal training in late November 2007.  MATCO is
processing his franchise now and is coming alongside Gary in a big way to help him start his franchise.  Now we have to raise Gary's capital contribution for him.

We can make this happen for Gary by raising $40,000 right now.  That's just 400 people at $100 each!  Any amount is welcome but this can happen so fast if you will join me today in making a $100 donation to start Gary's business.

*Make your check payable to:  Wrench Boxes LLC  (link to filing on Texas Comptroller's web site)

*Mail the checks to:   Edd Hendee  10505 Katy Freeway  Houston, TX.   77024

I have opened a bank account for his capitol contribution at my bank - and that account will have double signature control (mine and his) on this account.  Your contribution will buy his used truck, down payment for his opening tool inventory, and give him the funds he needs to get his business up and running this month.   I am personally overseeing this account and helping him with his start up for the first year so he can have a business mentor and so you can be assured that this deal succeeds for Gary and for you.

MATCO will begin formal training for Gary as soon as these funds are on deposit - that's why we have to have the capital raised quickly to get Gary started.  Please join me in supporting Gary Brugman.  This can be a great ending Gary's story - you and I are the real "America" who can restore what the government destroyed in it's current open border policy.  Thanks for your support - together we can make this happen.

Edd Hendee is half of the Pat and Edd Show on 700 AM KSEV Radio here in Houston.  He is also the head of Citizens for Lowering Our Unfair Taxes (CLOUT) Texas and Eyes on the Border.  He is very active in the community.  I can promise you this is not a scam.  It doesn't have to be $100... but anything and everything helps.  Through his fundraising efforts, he has been able to provide an airplane to border sheriffs and has assisted Patty Compean with her finances.  I have lots of respect for this man.

Is Huckabee a true conservative?

Source:  http://opinionjournal.com/diary/?id=110010782

Does this mean Mike Huckabee is the opposite of Rudy Guliani... social conservative vs. fiscal liberal?  Not something we need.  While I think he seems like a good guy, I don't think he's Presidential yet.  Good VP candidate, but not POTUS.

Quote from the article from Phyllis Schlafly:  "He destroyed the conservative movement in Arkansas, and left the Republican Party a shambles," she says. "Yet some of the same evangelicals who sold us on George W. Bush as a 'compassionate conservative' are now trying to sell us on Mike Huckabee."

It also appears he kept a lot of Clinton state appointees:  Mr. Huckabee's reluctance to surround himself with conservatives was evident as governor, when he kept many agency heads appointed by Bill Clinton. Zac Wright, a spokesman for incoming Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe, was asked this year why 15 Huckabee agency heads had been retained. Most of them were "Clinton people," he replied, not "Huckabee people." Mr. Huckabee told me many of his agency heads had "apolitical" responsibilities.  I believe we learned what happens when we keep Clinton appointees.  This is why our beloved President Dubya got in trouble... he kept a lot of Clinton appointees in the District Attorney positions all over the nation then decided to fire a lot of them AFTER his 2nd term state.

And on the lighter side (please ignore that they came from Ron Paulians), some Canadian hosers tricked him in the Borat style. (Mike Huckabee Congratulates Canada for Preserving National Igloo)

Feel free to disagree.

EDIT:  I fixed the YouTube link.  Townhall obviously doesn't like it when you do your own HTML.  You get what you pay for I guess... it's cheap as free.

Hannity's Man-Crush on Rudy

Does it seem to everyone else that Sean Hannity has a man crush on Rudy Guliani?  I mean, can Sean kiss Rudy's butt any more than he has?  He has excused Rudy's past sins while criticizing Bill Clinton's same sins.  Even his occasional replacement, Mark Simone, excused Rudy's infidelity while blasting Clinton's.

Sean Hannity lead a fundraiser for Rudy back in August (link).  He has him on his radio show more often than any other Republican candidate.  On March 22, he had a whole hour with Rudy!  Then, earlier this month, Sean told James Dobson that if Dobson doesn't support Rudy, that we will elect Hillary (link).

Hannity has the same mentality as other "conservative" commentators:  defeat Hillary at all costs.  That means abandoning conservative principles and support someone who COULD beat Hillary, even if they aren't a true conservative.

We should be focusing on conservative values, and convince those in the middle that they share the same values.  Protecting jobs, lower taxes, smaller government.  There are how many other candidates besides Rudy?  There's got to be someone better... and I think they all are better than Rudy (yes, even Ron Paul!).

Republicans needs to renew their conservative principles, not abandon them to pander for more votes.

Socialism Sucks: Are Americans Stupid?

Democrats seem to try to push a socialist agenda upon America while proclaiming, "It's for the children!"  Yet when Republicans and the White House say "no," they come out as the bad guys.  How can they come out as good guys on this issue?  In addition, Hillary Clinton proposed a $5,000 per new child account if she becomes President.

Of course, everything is thought of to be free.  Yet, nothing from the government is free... unless you're an illegal.  The money has to come from somewhere.  The Liberals/Democrats/Socialists say it'll come from taxing the rich.  It's funny, though, that when you tax the rich, it somehow hits back at the middle class.

It's also weird that the way this State Childrens Health Insurance Plan is being paid for by a cigarette tax.  You want old people to smoke so they can make kids healthy.  Please tell me how that makes sense!

Why do Americans go ga-ga over government handouts?  Do they really think they're entitled to all this stuff from the government?  Are Americans stupid to think they get these things for free?

This is going to be a hard pill to swallow.  Republicans must be smart in their response.  I'm not sure what the right way to come out of this is, but they have to make Americans realize that the government shouldn't be too involved in health care.

Americans need to wake up and realize that socialism sucks.  Progressiveism sucks.  Communism sucks.  Ronald Reagan said, "The government is not the solution.  Government is the problem."

Go to hell, California

Source:  WND

Governator Ahnold Schwarzenegger just signed a bill that bans words such as "mother," "father," "husband," and "wife" in public schools.  Apparently, these words are offensive to gay people.  Instead, kids will be indoctrinated that devient sexual preferences are normal.  How far will it go?  Will kids be turned into gays, and told that heterosexuality is wrong?

This is wrong!  This is travesty!

KISS MY @$$, CALIFORNIA!  Go back to Mexico or become your own country.  Let your state be destroyed by the abnormal lifestyle you choose to run rampant, but leave my country alone.  Go kill yourself with AIDS and drug overdoses, but don't make my kids accept your crap.

Open Letter to the Leaders of the Christian Right

To Dr. Dobson, Ms. Shlafly, Mr. Wildmon, Ms. Folger, and many others:

I continue to read story after story about the displeasure of the current field of Republican candidates.  Whether it be Rudy's abortion stance or McCain's amnesty bill or Mitt's Mormonism, those who are considered leaders in the Christian Right movement continue to say that there is no one that's a good choice in the Republican field.  However, I submit that there are good candidates to choose from in the "lower tier."

The one I'd like for you to research is Duncan Hunter.  Congressman Hunter is a man of God, and is solidly pro-life.  He has supported many pro-life bills, and he has promised to nominate pro-life judges.

One major item that Roe presented was the question of personhood.  If the fetus did have personhood, the Roe decision could be questioned.  Congressman Hunter wrote a bill that would grant personhood to the unborn child.

Congressman Hunter is also a big supporter of keeping our national sovereignty.  He is opposed to NAFTA, CAFTA, and the Trans-Texas Corridor (a/k/a NAFTA Superhighway).

No, he may not be a minister in the church.  No, he may not have done anything "heroic" in Vietnam.  But yes this man has what it takes to be President.  He is right on lots of issues.  He is someone we should give a good look at.

It is unfortunate that I see discouragement among the nation's Christian leaders.  We won't be able to find a human candidate that will be 100% for what we are for.  However, I do know there are better candidates in the so-called "lower tier" than there are in the "upper tier."  While I agree that we should not be voting for someone because he is not the evil of two lessers, supporting a 3rd party candidate will most definitely lead to a Hillary Presidency.  We cannot and should not allow that to happen.

I'm just a "youngun'" with a wife and a baby on the way.  However, I do believe that what happens in 2008 will affect our future.  We do not need neo-Communists such as Hillary or Obama in the White House.  We cannot allow our religious liberties be restricted while degenerate and distasteful lifestyles be allowed to run free.

Thanks for your time.  And continue to pray for the person that the Lord has ordained for us in 2008.

Duncan Hunter's Visit

I went to the Duncan Hunter forum at the VFW in West Houston last night. I thought I would get more out of it than I did. He showed up :20 minutes late... blamed it on the weather. Yet I made it there in 15 minutes from downtown when it was pouring down rain. The girl that sang the Star Spangled Banner had a great voice, but it was dragged out way too much. I prefer to hear sweet and to the point, such as how the Mississippi State University Famous Maroon Band plays it. Tom Nixon was also campaigning there. However, he seemed to ignore me... maybe it was because I was a youngun.

So after waiting 20 minutes for Congressman Hunter to get there and hearing the 10 verse version of Star Spangled Banner, Heidi Theiss starts to introduce Mr. Hunter. She says how she was a Reaganite growing up but became disaffected election after election as politicans she voted for didn't do what she voted them in to do. She made it personal.

Finally, Duncan makes his speech. There's nothing really new or special to his speech... same topics: China is cheating on trade, we need enforceable borders, and we need peace through strength. It only lasts about 20-25 minutes, but it wasn't anything new we haven't heard at the debates.

Then, people started to ask questions. It was mostly the typical questions... the war, health care, social security, Iran, jobs, etc. He tied the survivability of Social Security by bringing jobs back from overseas... that was very good. He does want to renegotiate some agreements made after WWII.

I must say, though, that I was overlooked the whole time. Maybe I'm being selfish, but everyone ignored me. Was I disappointed? Yes. Will I still vote for him? Yes.

At the end, Heidi rebuffed some old guy's comments that he's a long shot. Her response was that if we were to get his name out, and people started researching more, he wouldn't be such a long shot. It was a great comment.

I did shake his hand, but I didn't have enough time to ask him anything. It was nice meeting him, and I hope he still wins.

Argument Against The FairTax

I have a friend that I debates with regarding the FairTax. He is for it; I am currently against it. While I agree out income tax system is screwed up, I prefer an income-based system over how the FairTax is currently structured.

Here are my arguments against it.

1. Housing is taxed.

2. Medical care is taxed.

3. Not-for-profits are now taxed.

4. The rich will get a HUGE tax break while shifting more burden to the poor. While I am for a lower taxes for everyone, I dont think the rich should be able to get such a huge break that they will based on what I've read and understood.

5. From what I've read, and this could be wrong, but it does not appear businesses are taxed. This essentially shifts the burden back on individuals.

6. The 23% rate that's often quoted is inclusive of the tax. For instance, if a candy bar was originally $1, the new price will be $1.30. 23% of $1.30 is $.30. Truly, the tax is 30%.

7. You can't completely abolish the IRS as the FairTax promises.  First, you have to keep the IRS open for 3 years for the statute of limitations of refunds.  Second, who is going to issue the supposed prebate checks and collect the revenues?

8.  You can't trust politicians to swap one for another.  We could wind up with both at the same time.

9.  What will happen during the transition period?  Will there be a transition period?

Comments are welcome.
