Senator Jim Bunning. He's not a senator people here about very often, yet something he did this week should make us sing his praises. Sen. Bunning was the lone dissenting vote against the housing bailout. The senator had the guts to say no to a bill that will cost our taxpayers billions of dollars for Americans who were stupid enough to buy a house they couldn't afford.
Jim Bunning is a former Hall of Fame major league pitcher who turned politician in 1987 as a congressman and became a senator in 1999. He is the 10th pitcher to claim a 9-pitch 3-strikeout half-inning and also claims a perfect game. He is considered the 2nd most conservative senator (behind Jim DeMint). As senator, he opposed the nomination of Ben Bernanke and Robert Gates.
It's great to see a senator who will finally have the guts to stand up for what's right for the taxpayer. Thank you, Senator!
